    Thanks for posting this. I had the same problem. Found my settings to be the same. Changed it and that also fixed the problem for me.

  • Character encoding problem since PHP upgrade - i.e. displays as ?

    I've just upgraded my server to PHP 7.0.27 and MySQL 5.6.37, however I'm getting some odd issues with character encoding.

    For example, every GBP symbol on the site now reads as a question mark ?

    Using vBulletin 4.2.5

    Note: If I insert "£" then displays correctly.
