  • search.php & *New Posts*: How Does It Work?

    Hello,

I was wondering, if someone could point me to the right direction or maybe link me to some documentation, I could read. It's about the *button* in the vBulletin upper menu, which says: *New Posts* for vBulletin 4 (which I'm using) or *New Topics* for vBulletin 5.

Thing is, it behaves quite erratic sometimes. I'm trying to determine some pattern, but what it usually does is: it lists like 10 new topics, then I click on 1 of those, I write a reply into that topic, then I go back to forum's index, go to *New Posts* again and suddenly the list is empty.

Some other time, it showed 2 new topics, so I visit both of them, I write a reply in both of them and it's still showing those 2 same topics.

Not sure, if this makes any sense. I'll keep an eye on it and I'll try to provide more detailed notes later on.

    Regards,
    ~t3h'PÔr4d0x

New Posts / Topics is actually "Threads with unread posts" but that's a long winded title.
Once there are no no unread posts in a thread, it will disappear from the list.
