[Forum] Blank page in forum.php after upgrade from 3.8.9 to vb 4.2.3

i upgrade my forum from 3.8.9 to 4.2.3 and i got blank page

i already did all steps here

before i upgrade to 4.2.3 i removed all hooks and plugins and additional style and delete then create default vb 3.8.9 style before upgrade and disabled hooks in 4.2.3 before upgrade so i can upgrade safety without any problems

the upgrade processor went successfully without any warring or any error stall the process, i can see threads and posts in activity.php but i can't see anything in forum.php page

i viewed the source code in forum.php all i got is this

I enabled debug mode and disabled hooks in config.php and update all counters but the problem still persist didn't get any additional errors indicated the problem with the forum.php blank page

Plugins and products written for vB3 won't generally work on vB4.

thats what i did before doing any upgrade , i removed hooks , plugins. products , styles , delete all styles and create new one and test forums works on default style before any upgrade

the main forum page not work . i can display pages in forumdisplay , threads , posts , profile pages and messages without any problems but not the forum.php

i checked both style default and mobile version the forum.php not loading at all . i don't know what is the problem makes the forumhome page not loading and only thing i get is blank page in forum.php

yes both files index.php and forum.php blank page . i only got this code

ok this is so weird ... as i told you before everything set to default so no style templates change to revert or anything like that . so what i did is

1- copy the default code for forumhome template to notepad
2- edit forumhome template with test word only
3- save forumhome template
4- check forum.php and index.php the outoput is test
5- copy back the code from notepad and paste it to forumhome template
6- save forumhome template
7- forum.php and index.php working

the problem is when i try revert all templates changes i got blank page again, so there is something with the default templates i try to revert from in database . how do i fix this problem ? so i can use the revert template functions correctly

Did you uninstall your vBulletin 3.X addons and plugins? They aren't compatible.

yes as i said i delete all plugins and products related to 3.x version. this is forum runner and skimlinks plugins which is came with vb4 by default . take a look



the problem is if i want to see forums working i have to press save button on a default code for forumhome template . but if i press revert button for forumhome template or tried to revert all template changes . i got blank page again

NOTE : the only problem with forumhome template for now because i can see the rest of pages of forums perfectly fine . so i don't know what is the problem when i revert any changes with forumhome template i got the blank page . but if i save it with the current code in which is the default one . the forum.php and index.php start working again

Then you should save a copy of the FORUMHOME template and not revert it. Either the parsed version of the template is corrupted or it is triggering an error somewhere.

What version of PHP are you using on the site?

You can also try running upgrade.php again. This will reimport the master style and reparse all the templates.
