Facebook Connect stop working

Is there something wrong with the facebook connect now? looks like my two sites vbulletin 4 stop working and it says "Unable to contact the facebook server; if this condition persists, contact the admin" is there any issues between facebook api and vbulletin? or maybe they updated the facebook api again?

You'll need to upgrade to 4.2.5, changes were added that I believe will correct it.

This is caused by Facebook making changes their end. They keep moving the goalposts unfortunately.

I would consider looking to get users off Facebook Connect and onto a normal login. This is most likely the last time we will be able to update vB4 for Facebook changes.

Hi Mark.B Thanks for the info. My current site is vBulletin 4.2.5 Beta 4 so this mean that I will upgrade to latest release of vbulletin 4.2.5 to fix the facebook issue, right?

Yes, the Facebook changes went in at release candidate stage.

Hi, I have the same problem. In vbulletin 4.2.3 facebook connect works ok; I updated to 4.2.4 and now doesn't work... and I can't upgrade to 4.2.5 because our MySQL version is lower than the 4.2.5 requeriments.
Today, the 50% of logins (in all webpages) is by facebook connect. This is a BIG problem for our site. How can solve this problem?

By upgrading to 4.2.5.
There is no other way.

I would also consider making plans to move your Facebook users to "normal" forum logins. 4.2.5 is the final planned release in the vBulletin 4 series, so if Facebook change their code again in the future (which is fairly likely, they keep doing it) then it is extremely unlikely that vBulletin 4 will be updated to reflect this. Such updates are only going to be in vBulletin 5.

4.2.3 & 4.2.4 have the same facebook code, so this isnt likely.
