Restore your backup and files from before your upgrade. It isn't recommended though. What is your problem?

Then it isn't in your best interest to go backwards. This is not a supported operation. What is the issue that you're having with 4.2.4?

I have a stylevar problem

I can't reset style vars and I get this error message when I open any thread

What version of php are you running?

4.2.4 requires either php 5.5 or php 5.6. It won't work with any other version.

Make sure you don't have any out of date files as well.

Those errors are because you are running PHP 7, so you need to go forwards to 4.2.5, not backwards.
