Hello, I have been using vBulletin for over 12 years now. I am currently using vB 4.2.3. Since yesterday both the standard and WYSIWYG editors have disappeared from the forum (Full Editor, Quick Reply and Quick Edit). I have tried to disable and re-enable them, but nothing works. I have no idea what happened. We moved to a new server last week, but everything was working fine until now, so I don't think it's related. I haven't added any new plugin, but uninstalled a few that were not in use. Apart from that nothing changed. |

It's going to be related to the server move.
Can you please ask your hosts if either of the following are running?
mod_security

Ok...see if they can disable it for a very short time while you test if the editor then works. It could be that a rule is blocking it.
If it does, then they should turn mod_security back on but amend whichever rule is causing the issue.MARK.B

Please try the following:
1. To disable the plugin/hook system completely, edit includes/config.php and add the following code:
Just below
Code:<?php
Code:define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
and create a new style with no parent.
Now browse your forum using this new style.
Do you still have the same problem?MARK.B

My instructions aren't just about a new style, they re also disabling hooks..
If you've done both parts of my instructions above, is it definitely only the new style that the editor works in? If you switch back to the normal style, but still with hooks disabled, what is the situation then?MARK.B
