moving site...testing in advance using different tld on new server, nothing I do can make it use the new URL?

I've changed the bburl and homeurl in the database, and I've even checked the datastore, it's changed in there too. I used tools.php to reset teh cookiedomain, but it doesn't seem to want to change...something isn't working with tools.php I guess...it tells me it's processing and goes back, but cookiedomain is still .com when I'm trying to change it to .info.

Is there something else I need to change or do to make the backup/testing site work on the .info?

That didn't seem to work either...for some reason it just won't accept the new URL.

looks like it was the datastore_cache.php file that was causing it...seems to be sorta working now....apparently I have a lot of hard coded urls though

Ok...at this point everythign seems ot be ok...most of it was permissions issues at the new site. What I'm down to now is resetting the cookie domain...its still showing the .com for the cookie and I can't change the cookie domain with tools.php

After that I should be good to go

Also on the new site the physical path to attachments is different...how can I change that?

You shouldn't use the cookie domain at all unless you have two vBulletins installed on the same domain. Even then, it is simply easier to change the cookie prefix and that provides fewer hassles.

You'll need to update the cookie domain in the database's settings table directly in order to change it. Once that is done, you'll need to delete the miscoptions, options, and publicoptions rows out of the datastore table.

Once, you can log in, you can update the attachment path while in debug mode. It will be in the Untouchables area of the settings.
