I'm thinking that may have been what happened. I've manually edited those fields for the users that had extra junk in them. I tried it on my own profile and it seemed to work correctly.

I also have the expression ^[2-9]\d{2}-\d{3}-\d{4}$ . The users are still able to enter more than 12 characters and etc.

I cannot recreate this issue in 4.2.3 Beta 2. If you made changes retroactively, they wouldn't apply until the user tried to edit the field again.

Try on a unmodified default style, cause if I put 5 in the setting, Max length of allowed user input, all I can type or c/p is 5 characters.

I have a custom field set to length 12 and characters 12. Members are still able to add more text than I have it set to allow. I am using it for telephone number and want to limit it to 12 characters xxx-xxx-xxxx a ten digit number. People keep entering things like 555-555-5555 or 555-555-5556......entering two or more numbers and it is allowing them to do so.

Should use a regular expression to limit input on a custom profile field. Field Length doesn't limit how many characters can be entered. It limits the size of the field when the form is output. maximum length of allowed user input should truncate long entries though. Regular Expressions will both limit and force users to use a specific forum such as 555-555-5555.

That might be a issue with 4.2.3 as I can not replicate that in 4.2.2

Try with all mods disabled via includes/config.php

Yes. It doesn't seem to matter what length is specified. Single line text field.

    Good grief, another bug.

Edit the memberlist template and find:

    Code:
    <td class="alt1 username"><a href="{vb:link member, {vb:raw userinfo}}" class="username">{vb:raw userinfo.musername}</a><span class="usertitle">{vb:raw userinfo.usertitle}</span></td>
    And replace it with this:

    Code:
    <td class="alt1 username"><a href="{vb:link member, {vb:raw userinfo}}" class="username">{vb:raw userinfo.musername}</a> <vb:if condition="$show['usertitlecol']"><span class="usertitle">{vb:raw userinfo.usertitle}</span></vb:if></td>

    Another Memberslist Problem

VBulletin 4.2.3. In AdminCP under "User Listing Options" then "Member List Field Options", I have User Title deselected but it still shows on the members page. How can I get it to work correctly?
