  • [Forum] Firefox: Reloading thread after quick reply inserts text in qr editor

This is only an issue if the vB setting for quick reply is set to "yes, no click needed" (not sure about the exact english phrases, we are using the german version).

Steps to reproduce: Post a reply in any thread via quick reply. Hit F5/reload the current page -> the text from your last reply is inserted in the quick reply editor. Happens in FF, but not in Chrome.

When you reload the page, in FF there are two XMLHttp-Requests: ckeditor.php and ajax.php (see screenshot). In Chrome there's only the request to ckeditor.php. So my guess is the ajax.php request is causing the text insert.

Any ideas what causes this request and how to deactivate it?

If you set the quick reply setting to "yes, click needed", you still can see the inserted text from the last post in the hidden editor. When you activate quick reply, the text is gone because the editor text is ajax-reloaded for possible quotes.

This happens both with all our Addons active and our custom skin, but also with a newly created default skin and disabled hooks via config.php (define('DISABLE_HOOKS', 1), so I'm pretty sure this is a problem with any vB 4.2.x installation.

vBulletin Version: 4.2.2 Patch Level 3
    PHP Version: 5.4
    MySQL Version: 5.5
Any Addons installed: tested with disabled hooks
Does the issue occur in a default style? yes
Browser and Browser version used: Firefox 34.05, Chrome 39.0, Win7 64bit, also reported from our users so other Browsers may be involved
