  • [Forum] Where is deleted post/thread info

Where can I see the info about when and by who a thread or post was deleted?

    Thanks!

Thanks, but how about if a user (not a moderator) deleted it?

I am fairly certain it still shows in there. I have entries in mine for ordinary users who have soft deleted their own posts, you should see them in the dropdown list.

I just tested deleting a post as the user who put in the post, and it does NOT show on the moderator log.

You can view all deleted threads in the Settings > Moderation > Deleted Items

Thanks, but I'm not following you, Zachery. In Admin, I don't see a Moderation under Settings. And I don't see Deleted Items under Admin->Moderation. Could you be more specific, please? Sorry to be dense!

Zachery is referring to the front end, not the admin cp.

Click on settings, in the top right of any forum page.

LIke I said, sorry to be dense. Seems like an odd place for it.

It has been there since vBulletin 3, I'm pretty sure.

Yes it was there in vBulletin 3.

That doesn't mean it makes sense for it to be there.

Sure it does, the modcp has been dead more or less since vBulletin 3.6 (inline moderation). So more stuff was added to the frontend, in the most logical place.

That might be the closest fit for what was already available, but it is not a "Setting". Thanks, non-the-less.

I use it all the time. It sort of makes sense really to me but I suppose I am used to it being there.

Anyhow it works which is the main thing.
