or

have tried the .htaccess way as well and nothing.

did both things you posted and posted in .htaccess in main directory and created one in the forum directory to try that

I just tried it on my 4.2.0 forum and it's showing up fine, with images.

Try disabling hooks and manually running the task-

To disable the plugin/hook system open your config.php which can be found in your forumroot/includes directory

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

and save the file.

If you would like to enable the plugin/hook system again, either remove the line again or simply comment that line out. To do so, add two forward slashes " / " so it will look like

Next time you would like to disable the plugin/hook system again
you simply have to remove the " // ".
