[Forum] How Do You Limit Forum Threads Displayed On RSS Feed?

Currently our RSS feed link shows threads from all forums.

    ( http :// www. xxx. com /forums/external.php?type=rss )

We would like to restrict the RSS from showing certain forums, is this possible and if so, how?

Thanks for your valuable time and energy, we are truly grateful.

Don't allow guests to view the forum, is the simplest answer.

We want everyone to be able to view our forums without being a member.

We want to only allow RSS feeds of our news though, not every forum we have.

        How to we do this?

          Change the specific usergroup permissions.
No private support, only PM me when I ask for it. Support in the forums only.

I know how to do that, please read the beginning of this request again.

You are not understanding what I am asking.

            Thank you.

You're going to need to modify the software to change its behavior. If you allow RSS feeds, it puts RSS feeds on any public areas. If you only want specific public areas to work, this requires changes to the software.

I understood what you asked, which is why I said changing the permissions wasd the easiest way.

Unfortunately, that stops people from being able to view and learn from our content, without being a member. The nature of our content is such that most people don't want to register, for fear they can be implicated in something that is not fully accepted throughout the US. Therefore, we need to leave all forums open, so these people can learn and share from our archives.

I know you can add the number that pertains to each forum, at the end of a url, to achiev this in other areas.

For example, to show all New Posts on our forum from one link, excluding specific forums, this is what it looks like.
                http : // www .xxx . com / forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=397,475,476,477,613,552,586,528,537

I'm curious if there is a special code that could work for this purpose as well?
