  • [Forum] Usergorupe colored name everywhere

    Hi,

Related to this thread : https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...-on-user-group

I used the tutorial to add colored names depending on the user's group (my test board : http://quebec-gamer.ca/forum/forum.php) but it's not taking effect everywhere : s On my forum's index page under 'Last Post' the username is still default color same thing for 'Last Post By' within the forums. How can I apply the colors everywhere?

    Thank you!

The musername function is not shown in all possible locations for the username. this is intended.

This mod will do what you wish. It is used by many.

Remember to use single quotes (') in the html markup. Double quotes (") will cause issues.

Thank you guys! Why is it intended not to be shown everywhere? I think it needs to be consistent.

Will this mod work in 4.2?

Ask on vBulletin.org regarding the mod.

All I know is that it was the design.

I just did but can you tell me why it was intended to not be displayed everywhere?

It is running fine on my 4.2.0 forum. You may need to edit the XML however.

Yea, I juste installed it and I get this on my boards index page :

Do you remember what you modified in your XML?

                Edit :

Ahhh nvm like you said I need to use ' instead of " for the span. So got it working on 4.2 by:

Installing this mod : Username HTML Markup 4.1 and using <span style='color: #ff0000;'></span> in UsergroupManager > edit group > Username HTML Markup

                Thank you guys!

Yes but I uninstalled the mod because it's showing the html when hovering over user name... When you apply colors to a group it should be displayed everywhere out of the box.

That is your opinion on how it should work, but it is not how it was designed to work. If you want to change how it works now, you need to modify the software. You can also log an improvement request.
