I am a newbie and just starting out. Using VB 4.2 patch 2. My forum will not keep the set time. I have set GMT -4 (Eastern time zone) several times but the forum keep reverting to GMT alone. Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?

Did you go into the admincp under options, set date and time? -
There are two places to set the time... One for the forum which will be seen by guests... and another is under user profiles.. So even if the forum time is set correct, you're time settings might not... It's much easier to check your site as a guest to see the default time.To be or not to be... Apparently that is the issue. I just looked at my forum without logging in and it was set correctly. Once I logged in it went to GMT. I am not understanding why that is. How do I change it to stay at Eastern time?Comment

There are only two settings that control the time:- Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Date & Time Options -> Default Time Zone Offset / Enable Daylight Savings
- User CP -> General Settings -> Date & Time Options
The first one controls the time for guests and new users (if they didn't specify a time zone during registration); the second one controls your time zone when logged in.Former vBulletin userComment

I am experiencing the wrong time in my forum. The server is set to eastern time, the admincp is set to eastern time, but the posts and page generated time is +5 hrs difference....Wed 11 Nov '15, 12:38pm
