    [Forum] Database error

Hey guys, can you help me troubleshoot this? The site just went down all of a sudden, possibly due to something I just did. I need to get the site back up as soon as possible.

    This is the error.

    Database error
The Forum database has encountered a problem.

    Please try the following:
    • Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
    • Open the home page, then try to open another page.
    • Click the Back button to try another link.
The forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.
I migrated this site via cPanel to a new server several days ago, and the restore went fine. The nameservers were changed successuflly, and everything was pointed to the new server. Today I was about to shut down the old server, and after I deleted the old cPanel account, this error started happening. That doesn't make sense because nothing should be pointing to the old IP anymore. I would appreciate any help with this.

Everytime a database error occurs, you should get a copy of it to the techemail on file. Are you?

There is a tech contact listed in config.php but I believe this is a moderator who hasn't been with the site in a long time.

OK, I've changed the email address, and here is the error. It's coming pretty fast from every script imaginable.

You need to contact your webhost ASAP.

I have root access and I see all the databases still there, so no reason to panic just yet. However, this triggered my memory that I was tidying up the leftover folders after the migration and might have deleted a temporary directory or two. This may be related to that.

We have re-created that directory with proper permissions and the forum started working. Solved!
