[Forum] RSS feed / scheduled task not updating - Date set as last update at 8th Aug

    Hey,

I don't know why but my RSS feeds aren't updating, I tried to add a few new feeds but they aren't retrieving at all, there is no last date set when I run manually and in the log, the last update it is showing is from 8th Aug (4 days) ago.

But when I run the scheduled task manually, it is loading a few other feeds I had setup previously and also getting the feed without any problems..

Not sure what is going wrong.

    Thanks

    - - - Updated - - -

By the way - The last checked for the feed is staying at "-" - So the feed isn't being checked, even when run manually..

    Thanks

Are you certain there is activity on the forum at the time the tasks are meant to run?

        Hey Ace

This is happening even when I run it manually through the admincp, so everything should be checked / updated

            I have the standard, 5 mins, 10....

But this is happening even when I run manually, so it wouldn't matter if anyone is on the site, it should be retrieving all feeds when done manually, that's why I don't know what is wrong..

            Thanks

Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Do any show as 'File does not contain expected contents', 'version mismatch' or missing? If so, you need to reupload the original vB non-image files. Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

How about a link to the feeds that aren't working.

Here is an example Lynne: http://germany.footballblog.co.uk/feed

al3bed, I did that but everything is fine..There are feeds working, but my recent feeds aren't working, so there are RSS feeds being retrieved, just not any I have been trying recently.

                  Thank you

Did you look at the last date for that feed? Wed, 27 Jun 2012 17:58:08 +0000 You aren't going to be getting any new posts from that feed since it doesn't seem to be active any longer.

                      Hey Lynne,

I just copied the first feed, here is another - http://feeds.feedburner.com/PlanetGermany?format=xml

That has been updated and posts made since I have added it, but it isn't updating or being checked for my site.

                      Thank you Lynne

That feeds runs just fine manually on my test site. Tomorrow I will see if it runs via the Scheduled Task.

Have you tried running *only* that feed and seeing if it works?

Thanks for the reply Lynne, just did it and it is working when I do..Hope I don't have to disable feeds to run a few manually just to get them to work
I don't know why it isn't working normally, when I run the script manually it isn't timing out or showing any errors / problems, everything seems to run fine.

It may be a few days until I get back to you on whether it ran for me via a Scheduled Task since I just noticed that they only post about 2 times a week (only 3 times this month so far). (Did you notice that?)

                              Hey Lynne,

                              Just checking on this please

When I disable feeds and run just a few at a time, it seems to work, but I am not getting any errors when I run all feeds, it finishes, adds a feed or two and the others aren't updated - Even when sometimes it does show the last time checked correctly.

I have tested the feeds using another script and they are loading fine..not sure why they aren't being added on vBulletin.

                              Thanks again Lynne!
