  • [Forum] activitystreamtype table - OK to make custom additions to the table?

Is it OK to add our own additional rows to the activitystreamtype table?

Or would that mess up vbulletin?

    Thanks. -- Rik

You need to be sure of what you're doing. If you play in the database like that without understanding fully how the database works, and also how the php code interacts with it, you can make a big mess.

A test site would be your best bet, and if unsure you can also ask for help on www.vbulletin.org which is the specialist modifications site.

      Mark.B:

Good advice. I'm planning to write to the activitystream table and it appears that the activitystreamtype table pulls activity text strings from that table. If I know that it is OK to add our own strings, then it should be pretty easy to write to the activitystream table. So, if anyone knows for sure....

      Thanks again, Mark. -- Rik
