    When seeking troubleshooting help, it's important to provide more information, such as what you are wanting to do.

      Sorry, I've trying to restore my site back to the way it was before in got ****ed up, reason I'm tryin to restore it is because I meant to access the upgrade script page but incidentally ran the install script page and whipped my site completely clean but when my host tried restoring the db the guy got this db error.

      Code:
      ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 104: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `adminhelp`' at line 6;

      so can you guys help me fix that db error plz?

      Thank you!

      Sean

        You need to try to import your database with other options rather than shell.

        Bigdump:

        MySQLDumper:

        MySQLHotxcopy:

        The hosting guy should have enough experience to solve this or maybe your backup is corrupted anyway.

          Hi Sean,

          How was you backup created? How many posts does your forum have?

          There is the possibility that your backup might be incomplete in which case you will not be able to recover from this mistake.

            How is your host trying to restore your backup?

            P.s. Can you copy/paste here the code for the adminhelp table from the backup btw? Or you could try this, open up your backup sql file and then remove completely the codes that adds the adminhelp table, save the changes and give the restore another go. And when the restore is completed, re-add the adminhelp table manually in the db. You can take it structure from the mysql-schema.php file inside the install folder.

              For reference, this is the forum Sean is talking about (it's his brother's forum), which, before this happened, was running vBulletin 4.1.12.

              If I recall correctly, there were three threads, with one post in each.

                  This is the best way to backup and restore.
