[CMS] Forum Registration/Account validation issue

Hi guys.

The odd time I will have a user register on my forum; they will receive the activation link in the email to them, however when they try to click on the link, they are redirected to my site and the forum message they receive is:

vBulletin Message

This user's primary usergroup is also listed as a secondary group for this user. Please change the primary group or remove the secondary group.

When I go into the user control panel and edit the user, it is in fact true the secondary user is set to "Registered Users" and the Primary usergroup is set to "Awating Email Confirmation". I have to manually remove the secondary user group (take it off registered users) and select "Registered Users" for the primary user group for them to actually use the forums.

Is there something I'm doing wrong in terms of configuration or is this a bug?

I'm using the latest version of vBulletin CMS (vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 2) on http://www.deejay.ca

Any thoughts/ideas?

Are these users registering via Facebook Connect? If they are and you're not adding these users to an additional usergroup then make sure the following is set to 'None':

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Facebook Options > Facebook Usergroup

Awesome,. I think that may have been the issue! Now that the users are added into the additional user group is there a way to move them off of that additional user group in bulk or must I do this one at a time?

Would this work?

UPDATE user SET membergroupids='' WHERE usergroupid=X

(Where x = the user group id - of Registered Users)
