[Forum] How can I reset the forum ID

How can I reset the forum ID? Would it be best to start over from scratch and re install Vbulletin?

I plan on working on my project with a new domain name and a different script other than vbulletin. I will keep MidGuide.com simple with only five to twenty forums running vbulletin. I'm disappointed as I really wanted to use Vbulletin which I really like, for MidGuide.com on the existing project, but it seems that I'm unable to do this due to this whole memory issue and loading issue. From start, I should have listen to Zachery and should have never spent so much time and the money on the copy script trying to create a classifieds site using Vbulletin. For what I'm trying to do, prefixes will not work and It would just make things too messy. Anyway thank you all for your help on all my question.

    Regards

The only issue I suspect is your web hosting provider. Your forum with only 60 forum categories should fly on a VPS. Try another web hosting provider.

He has over 10,000 forums. vBulletin is not designed with that many forums in mind.

The easiest way to start over with a fresh install is to do a fresh install. Re-upload install/install.php, run it in your browser, have to clear your database (caution: make sure not to delete non-vBulletin tables if you have other software installed in the same database) and do a fresh install. This will delete everything, of course, so backup anything you don't want to lose first.

From what I can tell he has about 500 forums. Are there another 9,500 forum only viewable to registered members?

That's what I did I ended up doing a fresh install. Thank you for your suggestion Matthew. One thing, I noticed that there was an email sent to me while browsing through my email about a security patch, when I downloaded the patch, It had a folder in there for install. Once I upload the files, should I delete the install folder or just leave it alone?

Hey Andy, I did have lots of forums on the site, they were in the Canada category forums. I wish I could have finish it with the 50k to 100k forums. I was hoping to use Vbulletin as a classifieds script, but with the issues I was having It was best for me to start with less forums as Zachery mentioned originally. Maybe something will be changed with the Vbulletin 5.
