[Forum] Display incorrect in IE - how to fix this?

Setting up new forum vBulletin 4.20 PL2.

Everything looks fine in Firefox 4.x, Firefox 13.x, and the latest versions of Google Chrome.

But the displays are messed up in IE7 and IE9. Text that is left justified in other browsers is centered in IE... see attachments:





This occurs both in the customized style shown in the images as well as in the vBulletin Default style.

Where do I start to fix this?

Firstly IE7 is not supported so you will need to advise users of that browser to upgrade to at least IE8.

Beyond that, create a new style with no parent and browse the forum with that style. Do you still have the same problem?

It happens in IE9 too... that's the version showing in the screenshots.

If I try to import the vBulletin default style as a new style but it just merges into the current one. How can I import it as a new separate style to check this?

By the way, I did try disabling all plugins but I still have that issue.

You might have missed a closing tag for something centered above it all?

1- Looks like you have <center> tag in your header or somewhere and not closed.

2- Create a new style (Add New Style), then import your customized style into the new one.

Fix the center tag in your notice.

Edit, its not your notice, but your html sidebar.

No it was also the notice which I fixed but thanks for the heads up about the sidebar. I'll check that.
