  • [Forum] Problem Upgrading to 4.2

    I've just uploaded version 4.2 but when trying to upgrade I get this error:

    Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/bulletin/public_html/includes/md5_sums_vbulletin.php on line 1744

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/bulletin/public_html/includes/md5_sums_vbulletin.php on line 1744
    I'm upgrading from 4.1.10.

    Try to download the package and upload it again.

      Thanks. I'll try that.

      EDIT:

      OK, now I get:

      Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting '}' in /home/bulletin/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 8312

        Unexpected $end means that the file wasn't uploaded completely. Reupload that file, overwriting the copy of it on your server.

          I've reuploaded the file several times and now I get:

          Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/bulletin/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 8112
          When I open the file in my HTML editor it stops on line 8112, on the word function(s). Here's lines 8103 - 8112:

          /** * Spreads an array of values across the given number of stepped levels based on
          * their standard deviation from the mean value.
          *
          * The function accepts an array of $id => $value and returns $id => $level.
          *
          * @param array $values - Array of id => values
          * @param integer $levels - Number of levels to assign
          */
          func

            You're missing the rest of that file. So its not complete. Delete it and reupload it.

              I have done that several times. I've also tried copying the full code from the file on my PC and pasting it into the uploaded one, but as soon as I save it it goes back to that.
