Add the following directly under <?php in the includes/config.php.

    PHP Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);
    Does that resolve the issue?

No, because modifications have nothing to do with this error.

I managed to resolve this issue with the following SQL command

                    Code:
                    UPDATE navigation SET state = (state | 2) | 8 WHERE navid = ID
where that last ID is the id of the tab you want as the default.

And before sending a query: Always make a backup of the database

I hope this is an actual fix but regardless how do you even do this? I'm practically a complete noob but my site is all up... just can't set the default nav tab to Home and it's on Forum. I have this issue every time I try to set the default tab to Home. If you have the time, please explain where and how you actually do this command you stated. Thank you very much for the assistance!

You need to run that via phpMyAdmin - if your table names aslo have a prefix, you'll need to edit the query to use that prefix also (e.g if your table names are vb_ then change 'navigation' to read 'vb_navigation')

*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
                          - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
                          - Highlight the correct navigation tab when you are on a custom page

Run queries from the Admin CP: Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Manual Query

To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:
                              PHP Code:
//    ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
//    The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
//    See the above entries for more information on the format.
//    Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
//    to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
                              $config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = '1'
Replace 1 with your user id

Note: Before sending a query: Always make a backup of the database
