[Forum] phpinfo showing wrong information

Hi all

I'm struggling with my new installation as regards increasing the size allowable for uploads.

I have noticed that the phpinfo from admincp is showing different information comepared to what's configured on the server.

On the server, upload_max_filesize is set to 20M while in admincp this is showing 2M.

The other variables that are different are post_max_size, memory_limit and others (all configured higher than what admincp is reporting)

Any ideas as to why this is? I am assuming this is the reaosn why I cannot get any attachments greater than 2megs to load..

EDIT: Another thing, the very same server is running phpBB on the same domain which works fine and is reporting the correct phpinfo.

I'm not an expert at configuring php, but - while it's possible for a program to change some settings, I don't think upload_max_filesize can be changed by a program, and in any case it doesn't appear that vbulletin is doing it, so it seems like the issue would have to be somewhere else. That setting can be changed by a .htaccess file (or by a .user.ini file, for php 5.3 and higher, according ot the docs), so maybe check for something like that.

Did you try Maintenance > Diagnostics > Upload, and does that also show 2M?

Yes it shows 2M.

What I have established is that phpinfo in my subdomain dev.domain.com is reflecting incorrect info. For the domain www.domain.com it is correct. It looks like the server config is not being passed correctly through to the subdomains. I have passed on to my host to have a look-see.

What does it show in Admincp > Maintenance > View PHP Info? Does it show a Master Value and a different Local Value? And how about at the top where it lists:
Configuration File (php.ini) Path
Loaded Configuration File
Scan this dir for additional .ini files

What is listed for those?

And how about at the top where it lists:

After you made the changes to your php.ini file, did you restart apache? Changes won't happen until you do.

These setting have been in my php.ini file for 2 years now. As I stated in my earlier post these correct settings are displayed by my phpBB installation on the same server. Check out (links removed - no longer necessary) versus (links removed - no longer necessary). They give different results yet are on the same server. Dev is simply as subdomain within a subdirectory on the same server. It seems that the subdomain is not reading the correct php.ini

The link I posted for dev had a typo .. It's fixed

Well, dev is reading this: /usr/local/lib/php.ini

And the main domain is reading this: /home/pajerxga/php.ini

You could always copy the correct php.ini to the one that's being read by dev, and then they'd be the same.

After much to-ing and fro-ing it seems that there are all sorts of issues between me using cloudflare, subdomains and redirects on my site such that the default php.ini is being loaded and not my specific one. I have now moved my development site around and it seems to be working. Thanks for the help.
