  • [Forum] error sometimes when editing threads

I am getting this error when editing threads sometimes, not really sure what is casing this to happen.

When I refresh the page again the edit happens and everything is fine.

It says the server is getting a 404 (page/item not found) on those links. Can you see them if you put them into your browser?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Hi Lynne, apologies for the late reply.
When I refresh the page everything works again.

      Edit: this is strange: http://www.47r-squad.com/leadership-discussion/images/47ronind3/buttons/multiquote_40b.png

I am not 100% if this is caused by vBSEO or not...
      Also the quote box disappears.

      The link does not exist.

Edit, this issue only happens when links are in the post!
Not sure what to do at this point hmmm

Disable vbseo completely (that means disable it via the control panel and remove all the .htaccess) and then see if you still have the same problem.

          Lynne, thank you!
Looks like vBSEO is causing issues!
When disabled the problem goes away completely.
Looks like I am in a bind.
Time to go over vBSEO and hopefully their team will provide a fix.

Just wanted to update you all, this only happens in Google Chrome, other browsers this issue does not happen.
We have not found a fix for this and it seems like I am the only person to be able to replicate this issue.
When I disable vBSEO I cannot replicate the issue in google chrome.
Something has to be happening with vBSEO and google chrome and posting new threads with links, unless there is an interference with another mod somewhere.
            Weird huh?

Well, I am using Firefox and it's still saying Page not found.

Do you still have vBSEO disabled?

Dustin, that path automatically gets added at times when posting links, not sure "why" it's doing it.

I am thinking it's because of CDN. Yep..

Ok, I found the root cause on why this is happening (This only happens in Chrome)

My message editor settings was set to this: Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor
After switching to this then the problem completely went away:
                  Show Standard Editor Toolbar

Conclusion, something is wrong with Chrome & vBSEO (one of the two).
With other browsers everything is fine.

When vBSEO is disabled then this issue is gone too without making any changes to the editor.

Check the vbseo forums and see if the problem has been brought up before.

Have you tried setting Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Always use Forum URL as Base Path to Yes? Just a guess based on the initial problem.

Hi Matthew, yes that is properly set to yes.

                        Hi Lynne,
Gave vBSEO admin access and told them to enable WYSIWYG editor for their account so they can test things out.
Will report back as soon as I hear something from them.
