[Forum] Attachments on forum and CMS vB 4.2

I'm having some real issues since my upgrade to 4.2 PL2. I'm hoping someone can help me get this issue resolved. Now I must say that I can't mention all the issues, so in this post I'm just talking about images.

In the CMS I have some major issues, but let's not look at that just yet, maybe the other issue I'm having will resolve that problem.

When I create a new thread and import images into the thread (just one of a couple of problems!) they do not show up. In my text editor I see:

[ATTACH]59[/ATTACH]

I do not see an image, this also happens in the CMS editor. My images are not displaying the way the should. Before I updated to 4.2 and was using 4.1.12 I would see the image that I told to "Place Inline" but that is not working. On top of that I also have a problem with the image display showing "?" images instead of the actual image.

Notes for you to know:
When I updated I did not replace the config.php file. Maybe that is the issue, but in the past all updates I did not make any changes to the config.php file, because it's always the same. I've included a couple of pics for you to view.



Oh, this is an extra question. How did you get Highslide to work so well on this forum?

In your editor, is the A/A button at the top left highlighted? If so, click it to unhighlight - do you see the images in your posts now?

Also, where are the attachments being held - database or filesystem? If the latter, are all directories CHMOD 0777? Are the files actually there?

Thanks Trevor, I made some changes to the image settings, and to be honest I don't know what I did!! I then went to Maintenance and update Thumbnail Attachments. Oh, I did turn on Lightbox, and that works better than my Highslide that I had on there. Thanks for that tip!

I could not figure out how to find out if I'm using or saving my images in the database or in the file system. Could you tell me how to do that, and what you think is better. My forum is still new, so I have very few images so far. Hopefully any change I make will move them to the correct place without having to find them and upload them again.
