[Forum] Stopping Proxies on "sign in" question

I have another question.

How do we stop people from signing in under a proxy.
I tried using pagewash to sign into another similar forum to ours, and couldnt get in through that proxy..it said that this proxy was banned or soemthing to that effect. We have a lot of members signing in under proxues so we cannot identify them.

What do we need to do to only enable our members to sign in under their IP and not through a proxie.

You need to find addon that determine if the user accessing your forum using a proxy, then prevent that session from logging in. There is no option in vBulletin default to do that.

Many users use proxies as part of their isps, banning proxies is a dangerous thing to do.

Many users use proxies as part of their isps, banning proxies is a dangerous thing to do.

And even if you take that loss, there are still proxies that can't be detected, so it'd be a case where you harm legitimate users without really accomplishing your goal.
