[Forum] Remove (disable) red text color from post editor's palette - is it possible?

Moderators of my forum asked me about such feature - if it's possible,
because now they have to manualy edit all non-moderators posts which contain red color text highlighting.

To be exact here's an image what i am talking about:


any suggestions - hooks, regexp in templates, modules?

my forum runs on 4.1

Removing it from the editor would require editing the ckeditor javascript- a very bad idea. No hooks would help with this.

I could imagine a plugin that scans the post for [color=red] and removes it if not submitted by a moderator but custom coding like that is for vbulletin.org.

Um. Having red text isn't an issue that needs fixing.

Not all sites use red text for moderator posts. I'd be pretty cross if I suddenly found only moderators could post in red.

Easier editing if toolbar buttons is not a bad idea though.

You can use Replacement Variable

That would remove "red" for all users on all pages, and also for anywhere else in the style red is used. It also ignores if the actual word "red" is used or the RGB Value rgb(255, 0, 0).

He doesn't want to remove the entire color button, only the color red from the pallet. This would not be part of the JIRA issue you linked to.

Hi Joe,

I noticed that after reading Mark's post.

At any rate one option for the OP is to remove the color button. I've done that on my forum and nobody has ever complained. I've notice that 99.9% of all text on the internet is black anyway. His mods can always use the color codes manually to change the color of text as needed and this might be the perfect simple solution.
