    [Forum] A Problem with tagging automatically replacing words...

    I am having a problem with the post tagging. When attempting to add certain words to the tags in a post the system automatically replaces them to another word (one that was probably used earlier). The only way I've found to overcome this issue is by going to the tag list page in the admin CP and deleting the word that the tag was replaced to. The problem is that with thousands of tags and a lack of a way to search for a certain tag word it is almost impossible to locate this word. Additionally since I'm running a Hebrew forum which uses tags in Hebrew and English this means that the "sort by alphabetical order" is not a real help...

    Can this be resolved somehow?

    Thanks

    Are you saying that you add:
    this, that, other

    but after you click Save Changes, what actually ends up being added is:
    something, totally, different

    ????

    If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      Exactly, although it doesn't happen very often - i'd say once every 20 words, maybe even more. Seems like a random error with certain words.

        To troubleshoot this, first download a fresh copy of the vBulletin ZIP file from the Members Area then reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

        Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

        [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

        Next, disable all plugins.Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php:

        define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

        Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

        Do you have the same problem?
