  • [CMS] No sign of CMS in Control Panel after upgrade

I upgraded from vB 4.11 to the CMS Publisher suite. I do not see any evidence of the CMS in my control panel. Nor do I see it in my plugins or products.

Have you checked Usergroups > Administrator Permissions and made sure your user has permissions for that product? And did you make sure to upload all the files - check Maintenance > Diagnostics > suspect file version and make sure they aren't listed as missing

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Actually what are the install instructions because the ones that came with my zip file had instructions to upgrade from vbulletin 4.xx. There was no mention of the CMS anywhere and no acknowledgement that I was installing new software. Did I get the wront instructions?

Are you sure you downloaded the correct vbulletin package - the suite one? What happened when you ran suspect file version?

Yes I'm sure. Your documentation needs to be fixed, and you have a folder on there that says Do Not Upload but in it contains all the necessary files to run the CMS. I got it running now but now I've run into this:

            Database error in vBulletin 4.1.11:

            Invalid SQL:
            LOCK TABLES cms_node WRITE, language read;

You should not upload any files from the do_not_upload directory unless you are following instructions for a stub directory, mod rewrite urls, or needing tools.php

That error means you did not grant your mysql url full privileges to the database.

Ok I got that sorted out.

Why isn't there an option to embed a YouTube video into an article? Am I missing something here?

Click the video button and enter the YouTube URL in the popup
                  Vote for:

                  - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
                  -
*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
                  - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
                  - "Quick Route" Interface...

The video button wasn't there, but worked if I created a thread and promoted as article. I got my answer here

Now when I use the video icon the actual video doesn't show up in the post, it's just a text link.

Make sure users have permissions to Download Attachments in the CMS.
