[CMS] Change domainname without using acp

I want to temporarily use another domainname for my vbulletin 4.x site. The old dominname is currently not in use and i have a new domainname.

Is there a way to change the domainname that the site will listen to just by changing the php files? I have no access to the Admincp at the moment.

You will need to change the 'bburl' value in both the 'settings' and 'datastore' tables in the database. Be very VERY careful when doing this - make sure you have a backup of your database before doing anything in there.

I found the bburl in Settings and changed it. I have restarted the sql server and the webserver, but the urls still refers to the old domain. I didnt find any bburl in the Datastore tables?

Any more suggestions to this?

I tried changing my host file so that the domainname points to my webserver. This way I could get the admincp to work again. I entered settings and changed the base path for the forum, but it still doesent answer to the new domainname. All url on the forum still points to the old domainname.

If the correct URL is showing in AdminCP but your site is still directing to the old domain, then you have a redirect somewhere that's causing this.
