[Forum] Cannot view soft deleted posts

Hi I have a bug on my forum (running 4.2.2) where I cannot read soft deleted posts.

When clicking the 'View Post' button on a deleted post, it opens a new window linked to the post id however it is still in deleted form. I still get the message "This message has been deleted by xxxx" rather than the actual post content.

Hope this makes sense. Is there a fix for this?

If you put something in the bug tracker, you must have evidence its a reproducable bug, otherwise it will just be closed.

From memory, isn't it supposed to display using AJAX rather than opening a new window?
It does work on my test 4.2.2 install though.

Yes that's right, so I don't know why it does that.

Is it a default style / no plugins?

I know of several plugins that inexplicably break that function.

It happens on the default style yes. I have tried disabling plugins one by one but am yet to find anything that makes a difference

Ummm do you know what hook location it will be related to? That might help track it down...

It works on a default install....what PHP version are you running?
