  • [CMS] Looking to remove rss feed

    Hi

    I want to remove RSS feed URL for cms only, currently if I am in cms it shows rss feed url for both forum and cms but I want to show rss feed of forum only.

    I looked into headinclude template but it seems to have rss feed url for forum only.

      You're looking for help in modifing the software, vBulletin.org would be the better choice.

      Quick search for external.php in the templates results in these two snipets of code:
      Code:
          <vb:if condition="$vboptions['externalrss']">
              <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="<vb:if condition="$vboptions['cmstitle']">{vb:raw vboptions.cmstitle}<vb:else />{vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}</vb:if> - {vb:rawphrase vbcms} {vb:rawphrase rss_feed}" href="external.php?do=rss&amp;type=newcontent&amp;sectionid=1&amp;days=120&amp;count=10" />
          </vb:if>
      Code:
         <vb:if condition="$vboptions['externalrss']">
          <a href="external.php?do=rss&amp;type=newcontent&amp;sectionid={vb:raw nodeid}&amp;days=120&amp;count=10"><img src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_misc}/rss_40b.png" alt="{vb:rawphrase rss_feed}" /></a>
         </vb:if>
      So you'll need to edit the cms templates and remove those links. Most browsers will pickup any link for RSS and present it to you, thats why its not in the headinclude template.

      You might be able to use a plugin and some trickery to disable the external data provider options when its for content.php. But it won't turn off the actual rss output.
