[Forum] Images gone after restoring a soft deleted

    Hi Everyone,

This morning I woke up to see one of my mods had soft deleted a thread and then restored it.
    (He PM'd me about it)

We just happened to be running a big competition, and I was only after emailing out to about 15k people.

Now since he restored it back, all the images are just mark as attachments, and don't lead anywhere, so all the photos are broken basically.

    What I've done -
Tried editing the posts in advanced mode
Tried searching to forum and vbulletin.org for help
Looked around the the admin panel, and administrative tools for anything that could help.
Made test posts, and images embed now fine.
Now I've closed the thread and the competition.

I read somewhere that clearing a cache might help, but I'm not sure what cache?

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Giles

When he soft deleted the thread, did he made sure to click on the option to Keep Attachments? (It is not checked by default.) If he did not check that option, then if you restore the thread, you will be left with links like "Attachment 66" that lead to nowhere.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

It's really a bad idea to be able to delete attachments in a soft delete. I created a Jira to remove this option.

I don't know if he did, but I'm presuming now he didn't check that box!

Andy your suggestion is great, I hope it gets pushed through

I think all I can do now is train my moderators better, delete the thread, and move on!

Thank you very much for the replies it was much appreciated.

Until vBulletin fixes this problem, you can edit the template to make it checked by default.

Andy, that would require edits in 6 templates correct?

Sorry I don't know, I have not done the edits.
