  • [Forum] Payment API Problem

I just got the following email from PayPal:

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:

    PHP Code:
    http://mysite.com/forums/payment_gateway.php?method=paypal
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
I have supporting memberships set up on my site that use the PayPal API. Everything was working fine as of a couple days ago - and nothing has changed on my forums. I've checked the APIs in the AdminCP and they are functioning/communicating as they should be. My site is on a dedicated server - and it's been on that server for a few years now - again, I haven't changed anything on the server.

Has anyone else had this problem and no what it means?

I've started getting these emails the past couple weeks myself. This problem arose about 2 years ago, was discussed heavily, and no real solution was ever found that I know of (nobody could agree who was to blame on either side of the fence), and the problem suddenly disappeared. Search these forums for the discussions for more info. Lots of ideas and talk, but no real solution....

Got a second email from PayPal stating the same thing. So are we the only two vBulletin customers that have/are experiencing this?

What's the URL to your forum home page?
        Vote for:

        - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
        - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)
