Can i still retrieve the whole database without vps backend access?

mysqldumper is another good choice. Follow the install and setup instructions and you're good to go.

Paul's database backup mod on vbulletin.org would be the easiest way IMO.

I write some PHP that does a sqldump, upload it, run it, then FTP the result from there.
Maybe chunk up the exports into pieces.

Can i still retrieve the whole database without vps backend access?
I only have FTP access, and owner administrator access to my website. (My account is account number 1 on the site)
The forum I have is stored on a shared VPS server where I'm not provided backend cp access. Wondering -- is there a way I can copy my DB (i'm trying to move to a different host on my own).
Or should I get something like a backup plugin to do this?
