  • [CMS] What Would YOU DO!? Wordpress or Stick with VBulletin!!??!

Tired of not being able to customize the homepage as much as we can with Wordpress - I am thinking of just having my homepage Wordpress and then the rest of the entire site Vbulletin.

Each Wordpress post would post directly into a dedicated vbulletin forum section & the members will be linked up to leave comments on the homepage.

Basically wordpress is much faster than the vb cms and is much easier to arrange the widgets, graphics and different custom homepage themes.

Would this be wise to do, or should we continue to wait on vbulletin CMS to catch up?

Ive been a loyal VB customer since June 2008, wish there was more homepage grids for us...but theres absolutely none unless im looking in the wrong direction?

    thx!!

Since there isn't any updated, supported WP bridge. I wouldn't go for it. Moreover I'd have to customize either WP or VB to "match" across the whole site, no point in having a totally different homepage and forum IMHO. Too unprofessional looking.

Like you, many of us are waiting for a CMS revamp. As the main purpose of purchase was to have a complete solution for the whole site.

Right but it has been years and were still waiting on a CMS revamp, how much longer ya know? The forum has been right on point for everything I need, but when it comes to homepage news etc. its a pain, waaay to blocky for all the widgets and not enough customization for the homepage at all....looks so 1990s!

That bridge isn't for vB 4.x as mentioned, it did however work on earlier versions of 4.x but last time I checked it didn't work for the 4.1.x series without having issues. And chances are the way vB 4.x is advancing soon it won't work at all.

Doesn't look very promising. I'm using WP as my site's home page too. I stylized it with Dreamweaver.
