quick reply and edit not working after upgrade to 4.1.9

I continue to have problems as admin in being able to reply to posts on my board. The quick reply was working for a while and now has stopped working again. I can type in a post but when I try to actually post it, nothing at all happens. None of the smilies work either when I click on them. And once again all the style option icons on quick reply have vanished. This is on a Mac and the problem stopped for a while with a more up to date version of Safari on both my desktop and laptop but also occurs on Firefox... there *really seem to be a bunch of Mac-related issues* with this release version. Keep having pages display as garbled up code. Extremely, extremely frustrating and wish I had never upgraded beyond 4.1.8 which at least worked.

Didn't really find a fix to this so I just created a new default theme and applied my stylevar changes to match what I had. Quick reply box works now.

Just upgraded from 4.1.7 to 4.1.10 and now I'm receiving the same thing. It works when I switch it to the default theme but not for my custom theme. My custom theme is just stylevar changes, no template edits. I've done all the above in this thread but nothing is working. Anybody else find a solution?

As a temporary fix, I've replaced ckeditor.js (and ckeditor_basic.js, ckeditor_source.js) with an older version from vB 4.1.7 which seems to have fixed the issue, so it definitely seems like a ckeditor/IE problem.

I'm still looking for a more orthodox fix than hacking together different file versions ?

I have this problem as well after upgrading to 4.1.10 (I had skipped 4.1.9)

The symptoms are:
- Quick reply box is functional about 30% of the time, the rest of the time there is no cursor in it (regardles of whether editor buttons are shown or not, refreshing page repeatedly may show it)
- Edit post is not functional (no cursor or contents, empty editor if you "go advanced", nothing happens if you click cancel)
- Issue seems to be IE-related (using IE8, editor works fine in Firefox and Chrome)

Seems to be a browser/ckeditor issue, sometimes after repeated clicking on edit buttons I get a js error:

I've tried the following without any success so far:
- disabling all hooks/products/plugins
- optimizing/repairing tables and clearing cache
- disabling jquery external menu
- followed the provided link to make sure mobile styles are set to none, default style is not mobile and never was.
- cleared local browser cache, cookies, etc.
- re-uploaded ckeditor files/js/images



Any other ideas ?

remove whole lytebox that you have installed. If you only update your lytebox will still crash your quick reply becase it conflicts with quick's reply lytebox.

Ok Guys thank you all, i found the solution on my own. the solution is quite simple and it seems that most of us have products which cause problems, try disabling and re enabling until the problem is solved. in my case image resizer bbr code image resize with lytebox was causing the problem to the editor.

edit: If you have an outdated Lytebox javascript on your site, it would be better for you to install a fresh copy of Lytebox.js. It seems that the outdated javascript causes the quick reply and quick edit to crash.

i have the same problem also as today i decided to make an upgrade from vbulletin 4.0.3 to 4.1.9. Of course this was a complete mess for my styles and for some of my main functions. my templates are a complete mess and and i have no quick reply, i don't care about the templates cause i'll create new ones or even install new ones, but i care for quick reply. is there anyone who has come up with a solution?
edit: on top of that i can't connect to my site when i have friendly urls enabled, any ideas on that too?

I am having this same issue, there is no Quick Reply or text editor in the full reply mode after upgrading from 4.1.3 to 4.1.9

I have tried disabling hooks through the UI and also in config.php, I have made sure my settings are 'None' in Mobile skin options (and the mobile skin isn't default). I have tried creating a new blank style.

Not sure where to go from here.
