I have users creating articles with the CMS and I am not aware that there are new articles written and awaiting approval. Is there some type of notification system that tells me new articles have been written and are waiting for approval?

No, there is no notification system.
Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Lynne, let me ask you this then. How does one know when a new article has been written? Do we as admins have to go into the Content Manager and looked for articles that are unpublished every day? If that is the case then this is going to be a time consuming process. I have many articles and looking though the Content Manager every day to see if any new articles have been written is a real pain in the butt. There should be an easier way to do this.

New article notification
Hmmm isn't a link to the article posted in the vBComments forum?
You can set the option to automatically require all new threads in that forum to be approved. Then use the mod below that will show you alerts when you login.

Thank you for pointing that out, this does help some. However it is my opinion that when an new article is posted that some type of notification should be sent to the administrators. I also think that logging into the AdminCP to do this is a poor way to find out if a new article has been posted. When you put a user in moderated status there is a way to check moderated posts without logging into the AdminCP. Why cannot this be done with New Articles. A smooth running VB web site should not required administrators to log into the AdminCP to find out if a new article was posted and is waiting for approval.
OK, I will step off my podium now. I am sorry but this does upset me that you have to log into the AdminCP to find out if a new article was posted. I have a web site with over 34,000 users and I rarely have to log into the AdminCP. Now I have to log into the AdminCP every day just to see if a new article was posted. What a pain in the ass this is going to turn out to be.

Why don't you put this in the bug tracker as an Improvement Request?
