[Forum] vbulletin slow to start loading

I've noticed for a while now that my vbulletin install takes about 5 seconds to go from "Connecting..." to actually loading the page.

This seems to be only limited to vbulletin as my main page loads almost instantly, even though it calls to vbulletin's global file: http://www.gamerhandles.com/

I never had this issue prior to vbulletin 4. It seems most of the pages on the forums have this same delay.

I'm experiencing it right now on a T1 line, but I also experience it at home with a DSL line, and users in other states have reported the same behavior.

Any ideas on what is causing this problem?

Which hosting service do you use?

I use a VPS, and have no issues with anything else except when vbulletin is loading. I've also had the same problem on my old shared hosting, and the other VPS's I've used.

My current hosting is Turn Key Internet, and I've already asked them if there has been any issues on my node and they told me they have not seen anything wrong, or had any other reports of slowness.

If you are on a dedicated server I would advise that you request server optimization help by starting a thread in the Server Configuration forum supplying the information requested in this thread:

Since this is not an official service the response may not be as fast as you are used to in the ticket system.
