Database errors in 4.2.2

We experience database errors several times a day. The vBulletin server and database server are two separate VMWare instances on the same box, running Windows Server 2008. The problem occurs and fixes itself almost instantly. The report always ends with:

MySQL Error : MySQL server has gone away
Error Number : 2006
Request Date : Thursday, January 2nd 2014 @ 06:27:14 PM
Error Date : Thursday, January 2nd 2014 @ 06:27:14 PM

Everything after the error number is different every time obviously. Any ideas?

You may need to increase the mysql max packet size.

"MySQL Server has gone away" is a server issue. See this: https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/...mysql_goneaway and this: https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...265#post310265 You will need to talk to your host about this in order to get it resolved.
