[Forum] Can a custom BB code be disabled?

I made a YOUTUBE custom BB code in addition to other custom BB codes for my vB3 forum.

I'd like to remove this old custom YOUTUBE function from the editor but leave them usable so that they still work with older posts when I update to vB4.

Is that possible? I only see an option to delete the BB code in the acp. What would happen if I did that?

Would not delete the code for it would be best to just to remove the link in the posting options. But I have never messed with this so better to wait for staff to see what they say
