What could be the problem then?
Depending on your server's settings, the directory and its contents may need to be owned by the webserver user and in the webserver user's group. The CHOWN and CHGRP commands can change this if necessary.

Does your server have safe mode on?

You can always check the vBulletin files are correct by doing this:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

I don't have a solution for you other than don't bother running the css as files. I don't think it has any speed advantage.

Then it doesn't sound like your vbulletin_css directory has the correct permissions. You may want to talk to your host and see if they can do this properly for you.

    Thank you for the answer!

It works just as long as I let it set to No.

But when I set it to Yes, it doesn't work again and all the changes made while it was set in No are reverted.

Go to AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Store CSS Stylesheets as Files and set that to No. Then try to move them back into the filesystem by setting that to Yes and see if you get an error.

    Can't customize CSS :(

    Hello!

I moved the images (attachments, avatars, signatures, and group images) to be stored on the server instead of database. I followed the guide from vBulletin.com and everything worked fine.

However, after I've moved them, I can't customize any theme anymore.

    It gives me this error:

    http://tinypic.com/r/3004h9s/5

I've also checked the permission for clientscript/vbulletin_css and it's writable (777)

What should I do? I can't customize the template at all.
