Figured it out. Writing this for posterity's sake and the hope that it may help another dumbass...

needed to drop the "vb:raw" part of the variable/string.

    {bbuserinfo.userid} works just fine

Using variables in navigation manager link

Currently using 4.1.12 and just testing out some issues prior to updating to 4.2.2...

I currently use a custom template that gives my staff members a dropdown menu they access.

One of the menu items performs a search of their user ID in the "Reported Posts" forum so that they can find reports relevant to them.

It achieves this by using {vb:raw bbuserinfo.userid} as a variable

    Code:
    http://www.example.com/forum/search.php?do=process&query=UserID[B]{vb:raw bbuserinfo.userid}[/B]&contenttype=vBForum_Post&titleonly=0&searchdate=7&beforeafter=after&sortby=lastpost&order=descending&showposts=0
I can't seem to replicate that behaviour in the 4.2.1 test site's built-in navigation manager. Are variables like this disabled, or am I missing something?

    Thanks,
    TM
