  • [Forum] Inline image attachement in forum posts not visible by guests

The title says it, what permissions have I missed? Thanks.

These are treated like attachments. You must give guests the ability to download attachments, or at the very least, view thumbnails. If they can view thumbnails but not download attachments they will see a thumbnail sized image only.

I have enabled both but there's still only a link to the image.

            Shot in the dark...

Go to Admin CP >> Options >> Message Attachment Options

Now find "View Attached Images Inline", is it set to "Yes, display thumbnails"?

In Admin CP -> Options -> Message Attachment Options, what is "View Attached Images Inline" set to?

Interesting. If I click on it, it displays the image. So it's not a permission issue.

Might be replated to this bug: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-13443

Adding this thread to the bug report.

Thank you Joe, tried to remove the image and add again doesn't helped.
So I compared the source of both and found this as the only difference:

We have issues with some users only seeing links in 4.1.8, and others seeing the inline images.

                          All settings checked.

Registered users have an option in their settings where they can turn this on and off. They should click on Settings -> General Settings and make adjustments. It is different for guests which don't have an account and what this thread is about.

You said that "Can View Thumbnails" is set to Yes for the Unregistered/Not Logged In Usergroup. The default for this permission is No. If you have customized the permissions for each forum you would have to adjust this under Usergroups -> Forum Permissions.
