Sharing My content on Facebook doesn't work properly :(

Hi, You know how important that your link preview on FB appear properly, when any user share a link from my forum, It's only showing the site title and description , even if he shares a thread page, all gets the same result , However On Google+ it can fetch the right title and the image,


What can that be? Any suggestion to look for and where should I look ?


btw, I am using limited Guest viewing plugin, but Google can view all the content on the site because.

Do you have the Facebook Platform enabled in Facebook Options?

Facebook uses open graph tags if available to collect data.

A URL to one of your threads would also help.

If limited guest viewing is by ipaaddress not cookie then that is likely the problem.

Thanks alot for your attention, thought I'd never get answered

I used cookies only for limited guest viewing, Google spiders have no problem indexing the site.

Facebook Platform not enabled ,, I feel when I enable it, alot of FB spiders hit my site heavily, not sure, but this is what I think.

You put in the URL to any thread on your forum (any thread visible to guests anyway) and it will tell you exactly what Facebook was hoping to find and in your case what it is using because it could not find the open graph tags.

For best Facebook integration the Facebook Platform should be enabled but to be truthful in your case I'm not sure it would help. Even if enabled Facebook simply doesn't scan the content of the page like Google does, it only takes what is provided in meta tags. The only "description" provided by vBulletin seems to be you default forum description, this would be the same regardless of any other settings.

You can play around with the debugger and try various settings but the truth is Facebook does not do a good job of figuring out page content and vBulletin was not designed to return unique meta descriptions per thread.

A 3rd party modification may help that situation but to my knowledge none have yet been coded. You could try/ask on www,vbulletin.org to see if there is something to make Facebook sharing better. I have a mod but only for images on facebook, not page descriptions (yet.)

The Problem is even not about showing the meta desc, but any link shares to FB, show the site title on the preview.

But when I use the link you provided above I see :
