    Here is how to disable hooks- in 4.x-

    To disable the plugin/hook system open your config.php which can be found in your forumroot/includes directory

    Just below
    Code:
    <?php
    enter
    Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
    and save the file.

    If you would like to enable the plugin/hook system again, either remove the line again or simply comment that line out. To do so, add two forward slashes " / " so it will look like

    Code:
    // define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
    Next time you would like to disable the plugin/hook system again
    you simply have to remove the " // ".

    I have uploaded new version of Vbulletin, but asked by the guide to add this code to
    Once all of the files have been uploaded, you should also add the following line to your includes/config.php file (core/includes/config.php for vBulletin 5 users)
    Code:
    define("DISABLE_HOOKS", true);

    My version is 4.2.1 can I use this code? If yes, how and where to add in the config.php file?

    Shall I just write like this, then put it anywhere in the file?

    // define("DISABLE_HOOKS", true);

    I can't see any current ticket on your account.

    Please raise a ticket via the member area here:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/go/techsupport.

    In the meantime, to sort out the problem, firstly you need to follow our advisory about deleting the /install folder off your forums.

    Then please read the following two blog posts:

    start here..... read that....particularly step 3 for your case, but read all the steps, then proceed. the support team is probably going to ask you to open a ticket so they can help you if you still need it. you'll need to give them a customer number and/or a license number. dont post it here, because this is open to anyone who wants to look at it, then you are worse off potentially then you are now. you arent the first one this has happened to, and likely wont be the last....so relax...and breathe. you'll be back up and running before you know it!

    also....here is another thing to check out that will help you keep it from happening again... http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blogs...vbulletin-site
