  • [Forum] 500 error on all thread replies

I'm rather baffled. Site was working fine yesterday, no errors, fast server, etc. Very little traffic, but it was just a slow day.

Today, all thread replies result in a 500 error, but the post does appear. I've made absolutely no changes between yesterday and today, and the host swears up and down they have done nothing in the meantime (take that for what it's worth). They did re-boot the server at my request, but to no avail. I cleared the cache from the ACP and systematically turned off all plugins and products. No change with everything disabled.

It's still possible to post new threads, and to reply, but the re-direct after the reply doesn't work. Very frustrated.

    Any suggestions?

It really sounds like your webhost has changed things, that or someone else changed something:

Please read the following two blog posts:

Also please see these recent security announcements:

vBulletin 5.0.x patch released, for a different security issue: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...d-all-versions

I have done a complete re-install, upgrading to 4.2.1 in the process, and I am still getting the 500 error. I have completely deleted the /install folder, and I'm still getting the 500 error. Any other suggestions?
