If your browser is trying to download a .php file it's likely a server issue.

I've had similar problems with our admincp and disabling the .htaccess and re-writing a new one was the cure. It also happened another time on our forum.php after moving servers and that time was a server misconfiguration.

I use Chrome but not Avast, his forum was working fine for me.

I have faced this kinda issue with a few forums. Usually the download php files are empty. The source cause is the server acting up afaik.

by the way, I never use avast and use chrome rarely. The times I faced this issue, I was on FF iirc.

I'm curious what data these "php" files might contain- has anyone sent you an actual downloaded file? Can you get one?

    Avast anti-virus issue with vbulletin?

I've had a few users telling me that when they click the What's New navtab (New Posts on my site) it tries to download the php file instead of opening up the page. It seems to be isolated to users who have Avast anti-virus, perhaps in conjunction with Chrome browser.

    Site is at www.fifagamer.net

Is this a known issue? Thanks.
