Good morning all
I was advised by the VBteam not to test the latest 4.2.1 full upgrade on a live forum. Sounds like good advice, first test it out and then do it for real.
This means I first have to create a running copy of my forum. So here is what I did:
I thought it was not wise to upgrade / reinstall on the actual database so I chickened out and did the following in order to give it a test before I would do it for reaL.
-1- Made a copy on the server of the live dat6abase, named that copy vbtest
-2- Made a new directory in the public html named that directory vbtest
-3- FTP copied all files from live forum to the new vbtest folder
-4- Edited config.php and changed dabase name + database user name + database pass
I surfed to www.myforum.com/vbtest/ and the forum popped up. But after logging in to the forum I return back to the front page of the vbtest forum without being logged in.
All the links of the forums go to (for instance):
http://www.myforum.net/forumdisplay.php/.......
instead of going to
http://www.myforum.net/VBTEST/forumdisplay.php/.......
Any suggestions.what could be wrong ?
